I am a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives, California's 9th district, Albany, Berkeley, Oakland, Piedmont, Emeryville, Castro Valley, Ashland, Cherryland and Fairview.

We are at a very critical time in our history. We are experiencing radical changes in weather, our Constitution is under assault, the Democrats and Republicans cannot agree on anything except squeezing the middle class and facilitating trans-national corporate rule of our country.

The U.S. Supreme Court just granted corporations "Person-hood" allowing them to spend unlimited money on political campaigns. The flood gates have been fully opened wide for the complete take-over of our government. You would think that at least the Democrats would make it their number one priority to institute a new Constitutional Amendment that would simply say, "Corporations are not people and to not have rights, only privileges granted to them by law." But both dominant parties remain silent on the issue.

There are solutions to many of the problems we are facing but the Republicrats will not even allow the solutions into the debate. (President Obama would not even allow a public option into the health care debate from the very beginning!) The banking industry have given themselves record bonuses while houses are being foreclosed on at record rates and working people are being thrown out in the streets.

California and the United States are resource rich and there is no reason we should be in such an economic depression. The problem is that the super-wealthy have engineered this crisis to line their own pockets at the working classes expense.

NAFTA must be repealed and workers rights restored and the leveraging of labor across international borders must be stopped. I call for a global minimum wage that will guarantee sustainability in all countries.

I ask for your vote to send me to Washington to put real solutions into the debate.
